Local Hungarian Community Attends Multimedia Exhibit at Oglethorpe University Commemorating the Hungarian Revolution of 1956
Event Host and Emcee Andrea Lauer Rice Welcomes Distinguished Speakers

ATLANTA - November 5, 2006 - Local Hungarian Americans gathered at a reception and multimedia exhibit to celebrate the 50th year Anniversary of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution. "A Commemoration and Celebration of 1956: Looking Back on the Hungarian Revolution of 1956" was sponsored by Lauer Learning, the Roswell, Ga., based multimedia company that creates educational, interactive products focused on culture, history and language.

"Seeing the Atlanta Hungarian community come together to recognize the importance of the Hungarian Revolution of 1956 was exciting and touching," said Andrea Lauer Rice, founder and chief executive officer of Lauer Learning, who organized and sponsored the event. "Not only were we able to document the details of the Revolution and its meaning for the local community, they enjoyed listening to the experiences of those who actually experienced the history of the time."

Over 60 people attended the exhibit, held at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, which included a collection of photographs, video footage, an artifact table and original news coverage, that enabled the participants to step back in time, In addition, the audience heard the personal accounts of participants in the Revolution, read by three children of freedom fighters: local resident Christina Pereira, Dr. Elizabeth Kiss, president of Agnes Scott, and Darren Sarkady, a local businessman.

"I thought it was important to create this multimedia exhibit so that everyone could find something that spoke to them," said Lauer Rice. "Everyone has their own learning style. Multimedia exhibits allow historic events to come to life, which is especially important for kids."

Lauer Learning recently released "56 Stories", the Lauer Learning collection of personal stories of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution and FF56! an action-packed, historically accurate educational computer game about the Revolution.
