William Penn Association joins Lauer Learning and the Hungarian American Coalition as Sponsors of the Gulyas Pot Community Website
ATLANTA - January 1, 2010 - William Penn Association, a fraternal life insurance and annuities company, has signed on to sponsor the popular Hungarian community website Gulyas Pot www.Gulyaspot.com, according to a recent announcement by Andrea Lauer Rice, the founder and CEO of Lauer Learning, Inc., and the originator of the site.
Lauer Learning and the Hungarian American Coalition (HAC) sponsored the development of www.Gulyaspot.com in 2007 and since then Hungarians and Hungarian Americans have been using it to network and exchange information with each other, nationwide. Lauer Rice, the creator of www.Gulyaspot.com, expressed gratitude for William Penn Association's generous support.
Having William Penn on board with us to support www.Gulyaspot.com is exciting, said Lauer Rice. The company has been a dedicated champion of Hungarian Americans and our heritage since its founding. The Gulyas Pot website community is a natural extension of its many activities.
William Penn, www.williampennassociation.org, had its beginning in Hazleton, Pennsylvania in the late 1800s when 13 coal miners established the company to help Hungarian immigrants in need of healthcare benefits. Since then the association has grown and today has over three hundred chapters in the northeastern United States, the largest Hungarian American fraternal society in the country. Its primary goals are to provide benefits to its members and beneficiaries, housing for its elderly and disabled members, and help in preserving Hungarian culture and ideals in America.
The Gulyas Pot community website is one of a number of initiatives of the Lauer Learning Pass It On
a program that works to find effective ways to help pass on a strong connection to one's ethnicity from generation to generation. The website provides various levels of information to Hungarian Americans and offers them a place to create their own content, interact with each other and network as a community.
